Andrew played the lead role of Deco Cuff, and caused a sensation by doing his own vocals in the film and on the soundtrack. The soundtrack album was a huge success, selling over 15 million copies worldwide, setting a new standard for blockbuster film soundtracks. During this period Andrew received commercial endorsements and made numerous special appearances, increasing his exposure on television around the world. Since "The Commitments" he has recorded 4 more platinum-selling albums. A seasoned live performer, he has toured Europe with some of music's biggest superstars, such as The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Prince, and Lenny Kravitz.
